I have been on Twitter for a while now. I don't do much but follow on Twitter. I tried to participate in the #spedchat but with a new child has made it hard to find time. I get some great ideas and links to good websites that I ScoopIt. I have also made a list of Norfolk Public School teachers. I have TweetDeck on my laptop and cell phone and use Flipbook on my ipad to continue to follow Twitter.
Tonight I participated in #spedchat again. It was on curriculum for special education. I have found a couple of new people to follow and realized that I am not the only one trying to figure it all out. I am going to make a new list for my sped PLN so that I can send out questions for help when needed.

You are absolutely not the only person trying to figure this whole Twitter thing out!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you tried participating in a chat again. I've learned a lot in the chats I have participated in and found new people to follow.
I think a good rule of thumb is to give Twitter maybe 10 minutes a day. You don't have to read everything in your timeline, just start reading. You mentioned using Scoop It. Services like that make it easy to send a tweet on a great scoop--so maybe start there. Or retweet something you found interesting from your own timeline. Just 10 minutes a day.
Glad to see you Tweeting!
It does become overwhelming. I choose to only use a couple and stick with that. I like having Flipbook and ScoopIt so if I see something interesting I can mark it and come back when I have time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments on Twitter. It's something new but I enjoyed reading the tweets of all the people I follow tonight :) I hadn't even heard of Scoop i or the other two.. Sometime I'll have to try an online chat. I'm glad to read your comments :) Have fun with your little one :D in the remaining vacation days.
